Mobile Arranger
Two full-time mobile funeral arrangers required by W A Truelove & Son Ltd, independent family funeral directors. You will be providing cover at any of our 17 branches for holiday and sickness, also at branches in need of assistance due to workload.
Obviously, a car is essential. Salary is £23,000 plus 45 pence per mile travelling expenses, which is calculated to and from our head office in Sutton and paid separately from your salary.
Hours of work 09.00 to 17.30 Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays 09.00 to 13.00 which will be paid separately from your salary at time and a half.
You will receive 20 days paid annual leave plus 8 paid Bank Holidays, after 8 years’ service you will be entitled to an additional 5 days paid annual leave. After six months you will automatically be enrolled in our pension scheme.
The role involves meeting recently bereaved families and/or their representatives and assisting in arranging the funeral for their loved one, also following up on arrangements made by the member of staff you may be covering.
Due to the nature of the business, you will come into contact with deceased persons, usually after arrangements have been finalised. It is essential you are aware of this.
No experience necessary, as continuous training will be provided, however, you must be empathetic, patient, methodical and have a keen eye for detail.
When we feel you have reached the required degree of knowledge, you will be enrolled in an online course, paid for by the company, culminating in an exam, which, upon successful completion will give you a professional qualification, entitling you to use the letters Cert FAA (Certificate of Funeral Arranging and Administration), after your name, and for which you will receive a small weekly increase in your salary.
