WA Truelove & Son Ltd are delighted to have been awarded a 10 Year Certificate of Appreciation for our continued support and commitment to The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
Our relationship with The Royal British Legion started over a decade ago as a result of the efforts of the now Manager of our Banstead branch, Jane Wiltshire.
Jane first became involved with The Royal British Legion and its famous Poppy Appeal in 2006 whilst she was manager of our Mitcham branch, before transferring to our Banstead branch in 2008. Jane’s involvement in this inspiring cause expanded when she met a local distributor who introduced her to the Chairman of the Banstead & District division.
In 2015 Jane commenced the Poppy distribution to all our branches, with our largest collection to date being an astonishing £652.00 that year with the introduction of our pin badge. We are very proud and grateful to Jane for all her hard work and efforts to raise money for this wonderful cause.
Jane is a qualified funeral arranger who has the Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration from the London Association of Funeral Directors. She has worked for WA Truelove & Son Ltd since 2006 and has been manager of our Banstead branch since 2008. Before working at WA Truelove & Son Ltd she was an Assistant Manager at Waitrose. She joined our company following the death of her own father, feeling that she wanted to help the bereaved through what is a very difficult and distressing time. Jane lived above the Banstead branch with her two spaniels for many years and has a wealth of local knowledge.
The Royal British Legion is a British charity providing lifelong financial, social and emotional support to members and Veterans of the Armed Force and their families.
Established in 1921 as a voice for the ex-services community, The Royal British Legion merged the three existing organisations, ‘Comrades of the Great War’, The National Association of Discharged Sailors and Soldiers’ and ‘The National Federation of Discharged and Demobilized Soldiers’.
Best known for its Poppy Appeal and Remembrance Service, The Royal British Legion is also a campaigning charity supporting the welfare and interests of all current and former members of the Armed Forces.
